I am french and I like snails.
In fact snails doesn't have that much taste, this is just the parsley butter that bring taste. Snails are just here for the texture which is actually quite similar to meat

In Sevilla we eat the smaller ones, with some herbal and not so garlicky hot souce, where they're cooked, and it turns out really tasty, but obviously, if you're not used to anything other than sushi, burgers, fries or Asian food in general, unusual local foods like this will feel weird or worse...
If you think about it, for instance shrimps were originally dismissed like lesser products (they're actually catalogued into insects family now), until they suddenly became a treat, and now everybody likes shrimps 🍤
I'd love to try those black half rotten Chinese eggs, or any food from everywhere, provided it's not super spicy 😋

San Francisco French restaurant, Escargot, I finally try it...Garlic rubber. Did not go for a second! I keep trying to get myself to eat Octopus and so far I can't do it, lol. All these different styles to try off friends plates and you would think that the snails would be harder to try. It looks like rubber and the suckers gross me out. I am also not a seafood fan, but I TRY things at least once, right? To the offence of many, I am sure, I gave my Russian caviar to the cat. SHE liked it very much!

French Parisian advice : if you want to eat French food, in a very French / Parisian atmosphere for not so much money, you have to look for "brasserie"/ "bistrot".Then, you'll find what you looking for! There are many of them all over the city, choose one kinda crowded (usually a very good sign for quality & prices), and if there's too many choices on a menu it probably means that food is not homemade.
Also, burgers tend to be on French restaurants menus, but it's mostly "French way burger", if you want an American like one, you'll only find it in American dinner or fast food stores.
Then, you'll find what you looking for!
